All you need to know about the Rx 6800.
The Rx 6800 is the cheapest GPU of AMD's release on 28th October having AMD's enhanced 60 powerful compute units as well as 60 ray accelerators of the RDNA 2 architecture specially designed for gaming. It has 16 Gigabytes of massive VRAM packed in it. A whopping 128 MB of infinity cache, 240 texture units, 3840 stream processors and, 26.8 billion transistors. All this GPU capability in just 250 watts of power. It also contains a USB type c for display output.
The Rx 6800 is a beast of a GPU but the thing I think may hold it back is the price tag which is $579 which is $80 more than the RTX 3070 ($499) which could or could not be a problem for the Rx 6800 as people who have AMD CPU would prefer Rx 6800 over the Rtx 3070 because of CPU-GPU connectivity and the smart access memory and rage mode which pushes the performance of GPU even further leaving the RTX 3070 in the dust.
Since these benchmarks were seen at the release and as you can see is without the rage mode on and only smart access memory is on I hope we could get a 2-4% increase as the drivers are updated and suitable combinations are used. Features like rage mode and smart access memory not only boost the GPU's performance significantly but will attract more buyers to purchase AMD combo i.e their CPU and GPU.
people would like and more believe at the third party reviews as the performance could be different according to different configurations of the PC and even with Intel CPU's. It would be interesting when Rx 6800 will come into hands and the hardcore overclocker even pushes the GPUs clocks even further without or with liquid cooling. With time the price may or may not be decreased as will Nvidia do due to the competition.
